For restaurants

Sunday night,
you and the receipts.

You opened the restaurant to feed people. Not to spend Sunday evenings splitting Z-reports into three VAT rates with a calculator. Baslic does that part, so you can prep Monday’s service, or just sleep.

Done
A typical week

You know this week. We rebuilt it.

Eight moments most restaurant owners would recognise blindfolded. On the right, the same week, but you actually have your weekend.

Without Baslic

The pile grows
  1. 22:18

Last cover paid. You print the Z-report.

  2. 22:47

Stuff it in the drawer with last week’s.

  3. 23:30

Drive home. Eyes burning. Tomorrow you open for lunch.

  4. Tue 09:14

Email from your accountant: “Did you remember the Z-reports?”

  5. Fri 16:00

You haven’t. The pile has grown.

  6. Sun 19:30

Kitchen table. Calculator. Three columns: food, beer, service.

  7. Sun 22:14

    Email sent. Apologies attached.

  8. Mon 08:00

    Prep service. Repeat.

With Baslic

Your evening is yours
  1. 22:18

Last cover paid. You print the Z-report.

  2. 22:47

    Photo it. Send to linnea-xxxx@mail.baslic.com.

  3. 22:48

Done. Baslic splits food 13.5% and beer 25.5%, line by line.

  4. Sun 19:30

    Watch the football. Sleep early.

Four lines instead of eight. Your accountant stops emailing. Your Sunday is yours again.

What Baslic actually does

Three things. All of them on your worst day.

Z-report mixed-rate, automatic.

Food 13.5%, alcohol 25.5%, kids’ menu 13.5%, takeaway packaging 25.5%. Up to 9 VAT codes on one report, split per line, posted with the reasoning behind it.

Photo it. We do the rest.

Forward by email or snap a photo from your phone. JPG, PDF, HEIC, even crumpled, low-light, smudged. We parse it in seconds.

Your accountant stops chasing you.

Give them a 6-character code and the cockpit shows them what’s in, what’s missing, what’s ready to file. You get your evenings back.

Kitchen and floor

The other half of a restaurant: who was here, and when.

The law wants a työaikakirjanpito. Most kitchens keep it on a pad by the door, in pencil, and rewrite it the week the inspector calls. Baslic keeps it as you go.

A QR on the wall, not an app.

Staff clock in and out with their own phone. Nothing to install, no shared PIN, no new account for a summer worker. The code on the screen rotates, so a photo of yesterday’s does not open today.

The rota, published once.

Build next week’s shifts, publish, and every phone shows the published version rather than your draft. Change it after and the change is visible as a change, not a quiet edit.

The record an inspector asks for.

Daily hours, overtime bands, Sunday and public-holiday work, per person and per period, in Finnish, ready to print. The engine asks when an input is missing instead of assuming a number.

Contracts signed, register filled.

Draft an employment contract from the answers, sign it electronically, and the employee register fills itself from what the contract already said. No second form.

What this produces is the HOURS half of työaikalaki 32 §. Both layouts the act permits also include the compensation paid, and that lives in payroll, so the document says so on its face. The engine computes the act’s general rule; it never applies a collective agreement (TES) on your behalf, and it says that too. The staff block is included from Business Pro.

In your words
“My Z-report has food at 13.5% and beer at 25.5%. Every month I split it manually.
Whoever fixes that owns me.”

Mika runs a restaurant in Helsinki. He is why the Z-report splitter exists.

FAQ

What restaurant owners ask first.

The three questions we get every week. Want a longer answer? Email hello@baslic.com.

Does it work with my Z-report printer (Verifone, PAX, Bambora)?+

Yes. Most Finnish POS Z-reports print as a structured receipt or PDF email. Photo or email forward, Baslic parses both. If your POS exports daily summaries, even better.

My accountant uses Procountor. Can Baslic post directly?+

Yes. Procountor, Netvisor, e-conomic, Fivaldi and Briox, plus CSV for anything else. Your accountant gets one weekly file, pre-classified, ready to import.

What about tips and gift cards, do those mess up the VAT split?+

No. Tips are handled separately (no VAT). Gift card sales recognise VAT at redemption, not purchase. We’ve encoded these as Verohallinto rules your accountant can verify.
